Garaj Mahal and Karl Denson (as the Karl Denson Trio or Karl Denson's Tiny Universe) are both great jazz/funk bands, and each have their own sections here on the archive.

If you like a funk/jazz mix, Soulive is outstanding and have many fine shows available on the Archive. Addison Groove Project is pretty good too.
Are you more into the classic jazz (Miles Davis, Coltrane, Parker, etc.) or the newer stuff (Metheny, Scofield, etc.)?

hollow, I like all of it. Crazy stuff.

I must admit that I am more partial to the masters - Miles, Coltrane.. etc.

Haven't looked for any free stuff that may be out there. I've always just bought what I've got through iTunes and other online stores. If you do locate "alternative" sources, let me know.
